Karnataka Express Delayed by 151 Minutes: Student Seeks Railway Help for Agra Exam
A Karnataka Express passenger seeking urgent railway help after a 151-minute delay ahead of an Agra Cantt examination has sparked a social media debate. The railway response and users' reactions have raised questions about train delays and exam travel planning.
Posts about train delays and railway service disruptions frequently go viral on social media. Passengers raise complaints about various issues, and the Railways responds by attempting to resolve them. A similar post seeking railway assistance has now triggered a debate on X.
The post was shared by Arun Kumar, who was travelling on Train No. 12627, the Karnataka Express. He requested the Railways to help the train reach its destination sooner, saying that he had an examination and the train was running late. He also shared his admit card on social media.
In his post, Arun Kumar wrote, "Urgent Help. Train No. 12627 (Karnataka Express) has a student exam emergency. The train is running late. I have an exam tomorrow at Agra Cantt. Please allow the train to move ahead on priority to save my year."
Following the post, the user also shared a screenshot of the railway response. The Railways stated that the train had departed from the Jhansi (JHS) Division with a delay of 151 minutes, or 2 hours and 31 minutes, due to operational constraints.
The railway response further stated, "We are making every effort to minimise the delay of this train as much as possible. We deeply regret the inconvenience caused to you."
The post has since attracted several comments, with social media users expressing different views on the issue.
Some users questioned why the student had not travelled a day earlier to avoid the risk of missing the examination. One user commented, "Couldn't you have gone a day earlier?"
Another user advised, "If you are going to appear for an examination, you should make it a habit to reach a day in advance."
Responding to these comments, Arun Kumar said that he himself was a government employee in the Railways and had to manage several things before travelling. He added that reaching the destination a day earlier was not always possible.
While some users criticised the passenger for not allowing extra time for the journey, others raised concerns about railway services and the recurring problem of train delays.
